Hypersims will work, but there will be CPR issues.
I'm pretty sure that docomo won't even give out the code, and nobody on here's successfully used a code from one of those pay sites.
I'd send it back and get it unlocked. Least hassle.

I am based in UK, I bought an SH-01D, unfortunately it arrived locked. Now instead of sending it back to the seller, I was looking for other ways of unlocking it.
http://softbanksucks.blogspot.com/20...ed-unlock.html talks about buying an IMEI based code for unlocking, does anyone know where to get one?
I then researched into the possibility of using hypersims, but I am wondering because the SH-01D uses a micro sim like the one in iphone 4, a hypersim will not work right? I mean if I cut the hypersim it wont work yeah? Or are there versions of hypersim which will fit into the slot of my phone? I have searched but can not find!
There is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gevey-Sim-Ge.../dp/B004T1R5AY but it is for iphone 4, will it work in Japanese phone? Has anyone tried?
Or http://www.dealextreme.com/p/turbo-u...1-to-4-2-70710
Please help, I would hate to send the phone back, I spent most of the days watching the fedex tracking lol and I don’t want to do that again!

Thanks for your reply, which type of hypersim do you recommend? I'm just worried about cutting the hyper sim to fit the phone, is there one that would readily fit? Or the gevey iphone type is better?
Like I said, you should send it back. Hypersims are not very stable.
If you have to get a hypersim, just get the cheapest one you can find. Even if it doesn't list your phone, as long as it lists any old docomo it should work fine.

SOrry to be so dumb, but you have not told me whether I can cut a hypersim to fit in my phone. From what I understand hypersims are the normal sim size and so will not fit. But if I cut will the functionality be lost?
Depends on the slot type. It varies between phones. On my 007SH I had to pull out the sim tray and directly stick the sim into the slot for the hypersim to fit, but then I didn't have to cut the sim card.
The IC contacts on the sim card are what actually matter, and cutting the sim to fit on the hypersim shouldn't touch the IC contacts so no functionality will be lost.
I think the SH-01D uses a microSIM, I'm not sure if hypersims are available in that format, or if it's safe to cut hypersims down.
i don't think you can cut a hypersim..... well as long as you cut the excess film off and if any of the traces are damaged a long the way to the transistor then it will destroy the hypersim.

Everyone's on their own for hypersims. I'm out har har har har har~~~~
Oh right- I'd forgotten that they switched to microSIMs.
The only hypersim choice is the Gevey iPhone 4 sim unlock card and I'm not sure if that will work on phones other than the iPhone.
Send it back for the factory unlock...
