TELUS announces LTE Samsung Galaxy Note.

It's coming later this quarter when TELUS launches their LTE. 5.3" 1280x800 Super AMOLED, dual 1.4ghz processor, 8MP camera plus a stylus.

TELUS will soon be adding to their Galaxy family with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note, which Samsung debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show today.

With an amazing, immersive 5.3”super AMOLED screen, the Samsung Galaxy Note will expand the boundaries of the smartphone category, while still maintaining portability with a light and thin 9.5mm design. But that’s not all that’s different about this smartphone: it also features the digital “S pen” – a unique tool that allows users to sketch, create, and enhance their experience on that huge screen with the precision and accuracy of a real pen.

Powered by Android 2.3, the Samsung Galaxy Note offers a powerful 1.4GHz dual core processor for a powerhouse performance users expect from a top of the line Galaxy device. Equipped with an 8MP rear facing camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera, the Samsung Galaxy Note allows users to enjoy video calling as well as HD photo and video recording.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is an LTE device that will also run nationally on TELUS’ coast-to-coast HSPA+ network (which covers 97% of the Canadian population), so TELUS customers across Canada can enjoy it virtually anywhere and will be future-proofed for the LTE network when that is launched later this quarter.

I do. It's sexy. It will need to stay in my pocket though when using it as a phone... Won't look so great held next to your face. The big question (for me) is: did they nerf the processer to get it to play nice with LTE? Snapdragon?

    Yes, I believe that 1280 x 720 is a typo. Agree that it should be 1280 x 800

    leobg,

While I have no problem with the WXGA 1280x800 resolution, it is not my cup of tea to have a 5.3-incher... too big for a phone, too small for a tablet. Yet, Galaxy Note has been selling like hotcakes in Asia right now. Perhaps, more and more people talk less and less... and many of us would use headset (wired or Bluetooth) when talking. Remember, Dell Streak has tried but not quite successful back then. Now, I think we may become more adapt to the form factor.

    Painman,

    Greetings.

What is your question again? It is powered by the Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon APQ8060.

I find myself talking so little these days and when I am, I'm driving and using bluetooth. The rest of the time I'm on my tab. The tab, though, and is a pita to haul around. This is trying to satisfy people like me who want the best of both but are tired of carrying two products. The fact that I also have large hands may also be factor

Right. Doesn't the international variant use exynos? I'm not expert on this stuff but my understanding was that the International version's cpu is superior. Please correct / educate me if I'm wrong.

I also heard the international version's cpu is better. Hopefully the battery wouldn't be negatively affected too much. But anyway I am happy that it's coming to Telus and I don't have to change carrier to get it. Been happy with them so far.

Also interested in Nokia Lumia 800 windows phone they are getting soon...but I may have to hold my curiosity back and wait till windows 8 later this year. Already not enough time to spread on my gadgets.

    Painman / HF_Visitor,

The Samsung Exynos 4210 processor (clocked at 1.4GHz) is only powered those non-LTE variants. Even the Korean LTE variant is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon. Regardless what some claims how Exynos is "superior", most will not realize any significant differences in the real world day to day usage.

Hmmm. Apparently Samsung have fixed their issues with exynos and LTE as the Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE has exynos in it. Maybe the AT&T / TELUS version of the Note will also be so lucky?
