I'm ordering a Droid2 (no contract) and I was wondering if there was any real advantage to putting it on prepaid. It appears the price would be close the same for prepaid or postpaid. It appears you can't tether or use the hotspot feature on prepaid, so I was just wondering if there was some big advantage to it that I'm missing.
The big advantage is unlimited 3G data. New subscribers on postpaid no longer get that. Though the listed price is a little higher than postpaid, it includes all taxes and fees. Nothing will be added like they do on postpaid.

If you call VZW customer service, they may provide discount pricing on other New and Refurbished 3G Smart Phones that are not listed on VZW prepaid.
P R E P A I D is just another way to offer (and pay for) premium services and devices.
Well, any Verizon prepaid phone can't be used on another Verizon related network such as Page Plus or H20 cdma but they can be FLASHED to unrelated networks that allow it like Ntelos/Frawg, Revol, Metro, Cricket, Mobi PCS, Blue Wireless and others...

Are you sure? I thought ESN is blocked for PagePlus etc.

If that price includes all taxes and fees, its really lower. I didn't know that.
Plus the unlimited data alone can be a great value if you need more than 2GB.
