It would be interesting to know if somebody told shoptalk1 this, or if shoptalk1 just assumed it based on how many other companies might handle it...

It is nice that PPC built in some grace.

    Thumbs up

As for me I thought 500 MB was good enough, but having 1gb as a data plan is awesome!!! 55$ is a hell of a deal. I'm going to use my droid x which has not been used for 2 months since I had no use/need for a phone.

You people need to jump on it cause your not going to use 1gb unless you keep downloading crap on 3g everyday. Use wifi for your apps and everything else like cruising/navigation/browsing etc on 3g. I promise your not going to use it all up.

Also use a task scheduler to shut down 3g when your phone screen is off. Its in market and hell it will save you DATA.

Well that's good to know. I think the confusion is that PagePlus doesn't communicate very well with customers. Seems a lot of their "promotions" and such are not even advertised, save to dealers and the select group on boards like this. I really don't understand it myself. Is it that tough to put up a press release?

But, if you fail to renew your monthly plan within a day or so after your monthly expiration date, you are automatically switched to the Standard plan. Wouldn't this cause the promotion to get cancelled?

Yes, until it is renewed. According to Denny's post, if The55 is renewed within 30 days of the lapse, the 1GB of data will resume through 12/31/12.

Thats one thing I hate about Page Plus. YOU have to renew that very same day your plan expires. Is there a autorefill now?

Yes, you can set up Auto Pay on the website to renew your monthly plan automatically and charge your Visa/MC credit or debit card.

Update: I contacted pageplus to ask about paying later under the 30 days. They told me if I am one day late when it expires after 12 midnight the 1 gb promotion ends. So be sure to pay that day!!!!

FYI...It can be very difficult at times to get correct info from a PP CSR. DennyScher (upper management at PP) here on hofo is the most reliable source of accurate PP info that we have. If Denny says it's so, then it's so. So I would trust what he has posted, not what some random CSR told me.

I don't know why so many people continue to post info here based on ONE call to PP CS?? You need a much larger sampling than that to get what may be semi-accurate info. Even if you were to call a half dozen times and get the same info every time, I would still be hesitant to take it as accurate PP policy.
I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.

Unfortunately, PPC CS is often wrong. Denny from PPC already confirmed that what you were told by PPC CS is incorrect.

Denny, here is another example of PPC CS giving customers wrong information. Can you please confirm that what you wrote previously is correct?

Confirmed, a 30-day grace period to stay on the 1 gig deal following a late payment. I'll have a reminder sent to the call center.

That is really sad that the customer has to call back multiple times to try to determine if they are getting a correct answer.

SO whats the best way IF they forget and I'm one day late? I do not want to talk to a supervisor that says the same thing. Denny might be the upper guy, but the lower guys won't always know. I just don't want to start an argument and lose my 1gb and calling about 10 times waiting 10-15 minutes each to get the right person..

I'd like to see this 30 day grace written somewhere on there site or documented. Anything that is documented can be proved, not by mouth.
