Help BB9900 won't charge except via computer usb or power

I have two usbs in my car. One directly to my audio system and other is a cigarette lighter to usb (2.1amp). Both won't charge my BB9900 but it charged my BB9360 curve and my friends BB8300..

On the usb connected to the radio i get a pop up saying this usb doesn't have enough power to charge, on the inverter (Cigarette lighter to usb) nothing happens as if the USB isn't connected to anything.

    Any Ideas??

Seems like a no brainer, doesn't it?

I have tried everything inverter I could get my hands on.
    2 x rated at 2.1amps
    1 x rated at 1.0amp
    1 x rated at .750amp

I just ordered a Blackberry BB9900 charger, i was wondering if it is a software issue.

Googling blackberry not charging in car chargers turns up alot of posts but no solution.

One thing to try is, use the USB cable that came with the 9900, as it may possibly have a different pin out config.

That said, I also have a 400 watt inverter in the vehicle that has 2 household-style plugins, and a USB port to boot. I can charge, or run damn near anything!

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Like booster cables, you know...

I just tried the BB cable that came with my BB9900, I bought a longer cable from the Bell store and tried that as well. Didn't work it's not the cable.

Now you know it's the plugin USB, right? That's a good thing. You know it's a POS, and can change it out. Probably $9.99 worth of grief!

I too have noticed the 9900 is finicky with which charging devices it uses in comparison to my galaxy S2.
