    Fujitsu to enter US market

    http://www.slashgear.com/fujitsu-pla...rket-13209219/

sounds insteresting, i wonder what type of frankenstein they will create to enter our market? because i don't think they will be bringing any of their keitais here, not even a stripped down version.

this is exactly what Panasonic is doing but in Europe

so, what do you guys think??
We lose as much as we gain through life, and that includes who we used to be.

No keitai, guaranteed. There just isn't a viable market aside from us.

The phones they launch will be regular slab smartphones with subpar specs, and maybe waterproofing if you guys are lucky. They won't sell very well, and people will forgot all about it.

    Sharp FX anyone?

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

^ Wasn't the Sharp FX essentially just a Sidekick? At least from what I can tell based on it's design...

But honestly, unless they can actually compete with what we get in North America, there is no way they will sell well...

    I miss using my SH-01B... D:

They can at least go for what they do best: waterproofing.

They should just focus on having the phones unlocked and the related. They wouldn't have to make new phones catered to the US market, and will still get customers that really want to buy their phones.

The number of regular subscribers far outweigh the number of people who are interested in paying full price for an unlocked Fujitsu.

Create an Android ICS phone with an HD display, LTE and that quad-core processor (Tegra 3?), all for ~$200 on-contract and I'm pretty sure many people would be drawn away from the currently popular Galaxy S II etc devices.

Looks like Sharp's going to be the only maker to sell anything nice (SH80F, SH8298U, etc) in foreign markets, then.

Looks like Fujitsu showed the Arrows Mu at CES and also some kind of upcoming quad-core phone.

Launch that Arrows superphone in the US and success will be theirs, assuming they market it correctly and don't price it exorbitantly
