I swear some people will tell you anything just to convince people to sign contracts
Cause Rogers owns Wind, lol! that's a good one!

This is just too Funny because you made him feel like an idiot so he had to make an excuse to get you out of the store.

I wonder what would he have said if you put in a Mobilicity Sim followed by a Telus, BELL, Solo, Virgin and so on. In matter of seconds all of them would be owned by Rogers.

I just looked at the galaxy nexus on the fido site today http://www.fido.ca/web/Fido.portal?_...kuid=NEXUSGBLK.
I noticed the frequencies listed on their site are GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz and HSPA 850/1900/2100 Mhz but Wind uses the 1700 Mhz.
Are there different models to the phone and can anyone who bought one from Fido confirm it works with Wind?

Can't rely on carriers to list bands they don't use. WIND doesn't list all the bands their Nokia can use either. At this point there's only one version of the Galaxy Nexus being sold in Canada. It works on all GSM/HSPA carriers in Canada.
All comments are my own opinion and do not reflect the views of my employer or affiliated groups.

Oh I see, I didn't know that. When I checked out the Bell's site they listed the 1700 Mhz band on theirs but Fido didn't so that got me confused. Thanks for the reply

+1. As soon as my Bell GN booted up, I had Wind Home.

I would not be laughing. That may happen in the future if Rogers tries to corner the market. I recall Fido was a lot user friendly and inexpensive to use. They may figure it out that it is cheaper to buy out the competition than wooing clients with decent rate.

It could happen, but they do not now.

For stuff like this, it'd be nice to have it recorded (video and audio, even just audio is priceless), and then put it up on YouTube etc for all to see. For being forever banned at their store, at least you got something to show the world. It's cases like this that it reminds me of the old BestBuy commercial: the customer brought a lawyer and an accountant to shopping (with the theme that you don't need that with BestBuy, how wrong).
No longer on a leash by Fido
