Please take a moment to sign the online OpenMedia.ca "Stop the Squeeze" petition requesting that the government have a set-aside for the new entrants in the 700MHz spectrum auction.
Covered in the CBC article Petition aims to end cellphone monopoly, Jan 13 -
"A grassroots group has launched an online petition urging Canadians to speak out against domination of the cell phone market by the country's big three wireless companies – Rogers Communications Inc., BCE Inc. and Telus Corp...
OpenMedia.ca plans to present the petition to Industry Minister Christian Paradis and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. It is the same group that was behind the half a million strong Stop The Meter campaign protesting usage-based billing and the Stop Online Spying campaign, which is credited with preventing bills allowing electronic surveillance from being tied into the government's omnibus crime bill"
Unless we are robellus fanboys/fangirls, it is our civic duty to sign the petition.
I filled mine out.
I found this video too, it's pretty messed up what they're doing.

Folks,
I am not sure if Open Media would support the Mobilicity's traffic shaping implementation as the last resort to sustain it business model though.

I signed like in any economy level the playing field for all new players, we don't really need a trio-monopoly in our economy. On a second thought lets move to communist economy LOL.
So we move from big corporation to big government?
I would say lets move to a MIXED economy. The role of the government is to provide services at no profits but role of private companies would be to earn profits by providing more value over government services.
The mixed one is halfway beween communist and capitalist. Purely capitalist or purely communist = us minions getting screwed.
What is the overall feeling in this forum about TELUS' suggestion that there be a cap on how much of the 700MHz spectrum any single carrier can acquire? Is it better or worse than a set-aside?
