I would recommended looking for a dual band booster that does 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. They will work for all major Canadian carriers (MTS, SaskTel, Bell, Telus, Rogers, and US AT&T) running 2G, 3G, and CDMA, they will however not work with LTE. Take a look at Wilson electronic boosters, I have 3 different ones and they all work excellent, and are fairly priced. One thing to be aware of is the more powerful the booster the more separations (distance) you need between your inside and outside antenna. I good all around booster that I have setup for a couple of friends is the desktop pro. It will cover a large open living room and kitchen, approx 25 feet radius from the inside antenna easy.

using an cellular booster to cover every corner of every room of a house is difficult. the problem arises that if there is some signal from outside through the walls and signal from the inside booster antenna the two signals will most of the time be out of phase with each other and the boosted signal will be delayed about the equivalent of 2KM in distance. This causes you to have good to extremely good coverage near the inside antenna and spotty or poorer than before coverage in area's further from the inside antenna. Also it the outside antenna needs to be quite a distance from the inside antenna or you need a metal roof to shield the inside antenna from the outside antenna or feedback will occur and then the amplifier shuts down if there is not enough separation. Typically the minimum separation from inside antenna to outside antenna is 40 feet in a straight line. The other issue which comes up if you are in a city area is the possibility of overload from a nearby cellular tower (not necessarily from your carrier since the repeater is not selective) if you have considered all these factors and still think that the cost of a repeater and the installation is worth it then go for it but don't expect to have perfect coverage everywhere in you house just because you installed a repeater somewhere in your house, it has to be done correctly and even then generally the coverage will be best near the inside antenna.
