    Travelling to Serbia

    Hello,

I will be travelling to Serbia and wanted to know if I will have BB email service there (yes I will add international roaming with AT&T and I realize it may be expensive for data).

    Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks

I visit Serbia once or twice per year and take my Blackberry. Tmobile is my provider. I take out a monthly email plan from Tmobile before I leave for Serbia. My BB9700 gets email everywhere. 3g is rampant.ahahaha.
I even get 3G in the Southern part of Serbia (Uzice area). But, yah gotta watch out for web usage cause it is expensive. Best bet is to shut off 3G and just use wifi. There are many many wifi hotspots available in Belgrade. I also brought along last year, my Samsung Epic with Skype loaded on it. It was fantastic and cheap calling home from just about any free hotspot I could find. Next time I go to Serbia I will hunt up a sim to put into my blackberry maybe in Belgrade. At any time, I found I had a choice of 3-4 over the air cell phone providers that I could pick from but again, I paid a lot for my web usage when I got back to the USA. Some of the programs I had on my BB9700 would go out to the web for upgrades etc and this does cost.

You can use your BlackBerry pretty much everywhere in Serbia, as the previous poster mentioned. For a cheaper option while in Serbia, you can buy a prepaid USB Data Stick from a few carriers (I've used MT:S and Telenor) for about 40 bucks. The stick comes along with 3 to 4GB of data bundled with it. I just pulled the SIM card out of the data stick and used it with an unlocked AT&T Novatel MiFi hotspot. I used my iPad and my BlackBerry 9900 constantly and everywhere for next to nothing.

Can you just take the sim card out of the data stick and put it into the BB9900? I think so but would like to know for sure. Thanks for your input
