Comet (ideos) unlock question

A while ago I bought my wife the T_Mobile Comet and we got an unlock from T-Mobile to allow local SIM cards to be used overseas. After a while she has morphed her prepaid T-Mobile acct to a jailbroken iphone.

I will be using the Comet from this weekend when I will be traveling overseas.
I erazed all her data and gmail credentials from the phone and have reloaded all my data. So far so good.

But now it occurs to me that in changing the phone back to factory presets (only way to get her data and gmail acct off the phone) have I also erazed the UNLOCK and given myself back a LOCKED phone?

If so what's the way to unlock it again?

Well I have made progress. After chatting to T-Mobile tech support they told me Yup I have wiped out the unlock and they will send me the code in 24hours to 2 weeks!!!!
They told me that they might well email the code to my regular email acct. That got me thinking about the events of a year ago when I did the original unlock. And YES! I had saved that email.....
I presume the process and code stays the same so I will go through the unlock again.

Once you enter an unlock that's it, factory reset dose not earse the unlock code not sure what that Rep was. Telling you.
