I totally agree with your comments. We have embraced the iPhone since day one. Why fight it? Lower returns, higher margins, easier to obtain accessories and insurance! Saturation levels on PDAs are extremely high - so kiss the data feature payment goodbye! They could offer 4g devices +$50 higher profit than iPhones and it still won't change my position to embrace iPhones. They preach one message and force your business to move in the opposite direction causing continual uncomfortable conversations. Very uncomfortable with the path being laid out for us. Pushing products at no profit, VB and AMF is painful! Thoughts?

Not liking our leverage on this. We are like the miners of the early 1900s of the west working in a remote company town and being forced to buy at the company store. For the most part, they depended on their employes to set a fair price for both their labor and the cost of goods the were forced to buy.

The only point of leverage is as follows, they need us producing the sales for them, esp 4G phones. When the agent sales of 4G go through the floor (and they will), things will balance out (probably). To put us out of business en masse would be counterproductive, as would us selling mainly iPhones.

It is most definitely a game of cat and mouse at this point.

I am getting a spiff on Spectrum and a spiff on all RAZR's and a spiff just for the 16GB RAZR's, so they stack when selling a 16GB.

I'm getting a spiff on the 16 and 32gb versions for the Razr but it was before the BOGO and just to help us actually make money on them. Does nothing for the BOGO.

Apple will never allow a carrier like Verizwhore to whore out its products like a Thai hooker. That's why you will never see "BOGO iPhone" deals advertised on television. Apple, like most sane electronics suppliers, understands that "buy one, get one" is a concept native to supermarkets and potato chip bags, and that doing that to high priced smartphones only encourages people to a) abuse their phones because they paid nothing for them and b) get themselves into phones that they don't like/don't want, solely based on a stupid "BOGO" deal. This deal is a loser for agents, loser for *most* customers, but a winner for VZW. Do the math. Right now, when customers ask what phone has the "most problems"....my answer is the "DROID RAZR". Activation problems, 4G connectivity problems, freezing problems, etc, etc.... all true issues,...you'd be better off with an iPhone.
Low price, Excellent Service, High Quality. Pick any two, but you never get all three.
