My World on phone out of synch with My World on BlackBerry App World website
I posted about this on the BlackBerry support forum and there was no response.
Since I got this 9900, I've been surprised at how flakey BlackBerry App World is. Yesterday, when I went on the website, it indicated there was a new version of the BlackBerry App World to install on the phone. I accepted it. When it started up after installation, I noticed that according to the BlackBerry App World website, several applications that were installed, had been deinstalled without any prompting on my part. However, I noticed that the list of apps actually installed on the phone was different from the ones in my world on the website. Then a while later, there was a notification on the phone relating to blackberry app world, but when I started it, there were no notifications. The notification wouldn't clear so I decided to reboot the phone to see what would happen. The notification went away, but my world on the phone was still out of synch with the website. I reinstalled one of the apps that it decided to deinstall and after that I noticed that one application which was on my previous phone (dictionary) reappeared in the list of uninstalled apps on the phone, but the website shows blackberry messenger, podcast, protect and enterprise activation are uninstalled (even though they are installed on the phone). There is no mention of the dictionary app on the website unless I unplug the phone, and it shows up.
I've tried refreshing the list of apps on the phone and on the website, but it makes no difference. They are different.
Another strange thing about the way apps get installed is that the BlackBerry Desktop Manager does not show BBM, podcast or protect, even they show up in my world. I would have thought that RIM would have basic things like this figured out by now. I guess I thought wrong.
Is there anywhere to report these issues to RIM?
