help! unlocking iphone4

really dont want to mess up...have some questions!

its currently locked to a cdma provider here in canada but id like to get it working on gsm.

three questions:
i have redsn0w redsn0w 0.9.10b4 is this all i need?
my current phone is version 4.3.3 can i upgrade to 5.0.1?
and i dont have a microSIM. do i need it to unlock the phone or can i wait until i get one 2morrow?

do i upgrade it first to 5.0.1 and then jailbreak?
does jailbreaking unlock it too?

The 4 has either a cdma radio or a gsm radio. It doesn't have both.

There's no such thing as iPhone on CDMA in Canada. The Telus iPhone 4 that you have is the exact same as any other iPhone in the world. It has nothing to do with the CDMA version, specifically created for Verizon in the US.
