The Vibrant made me disregard Samsung completely for the future. Their idea of software upgrade is a new device.

Yup. I love Samsung quality but their software/firmware support is awful. Waiting for a new firmware version isn't so bad if everything is working perfectly and you're not waiting for a new Android version that requires new firmware. But if either of those things is happening then Samsung's ultra-casual attitude towards their customers is a major problem.
Implying Apple is better by forcing iPhone 4 users to get the 4S to have access to Siri, after removing it from the market.

Who is forcing who? Siri does not fix bugs, gps or add stability to the OS. The Siri you are talking about was a third party app.
Apparently captivate gingerbread is out. Vibrant gingerbread is nowhere to be seen.

Siri as a stand-alone app was meant to help you book restaurants and movie tickets. After acquisition, it was handling OS-level tasks. Not the same thing, and that's almost always what happens when any company acquires an app developer.
Also, Apple is known to limit Siri to the iPhone 4S because of built-in noise cancellation circuitry that lets you use Siri from a distance even if someone else is talking in the background. Doesn't work as well if you're on an iPhone 4 or 3GS with an otherwise perfect hack.
I am truly sorry about your experience. No user paying good money should have to endure that.
Your experience only validates the point I made earlier in this thread that you are taking a big risk in allowing a Korean to build your phone. They have no business and no track record to speak of.
Korean company know to build tv sets as they stole the know how from the Americans. I'd never let them build my whole handheld device. They are just good with cheap components and parts because they lack the experience to delivery a fit and finished device. I wouldn't let home depot or lowes trick me into building a house for me because they are not home builders just parts and pieces like the Korean companies.
And then you got Google running around like a yahoo telling folks that google know best for your handheld. Really they know best and have all those engineers yet still can't manufacture a single piece of refined hardware on their own at this late a stage in the game? Instead they force there customers onto 3rd rate cheaply made products and tell them it's good because they have choice. Choice between two piece of crap is still crap.
Instead now they will buy motorola and try to convince you that they are now equal to apple and on a level field of play. LOL yeah right nice try.
But not only that they will start putting only the best features in the motorola and protect them from the other android manufactures by way of patent trolling which they already have a proven record of being good at.
Then you sheep enjoying your vast amount of choice in crappy hong kong and korean hardware will have a real choice. Moto that is fully functional or Korean which is handicapped

What an ignorant statement. Of course the Koreans can and do make excellent products. I am in the medical equipment field and some of the BEST products with leading technology is coming from Korea. Fyi: all iphones are coming from China...a country that has their nukes pointed at the US and who treat their workers like slaves. And don't even get me started on Apple's ranking at the very bottom for corporate giving to charities. Cold day in Haiti before I buy their products.
China is good. They do what they are told and take directions well. Can't say the same about your tv making handset pretender. YMMV with that.
But I'm digging this phablet and the stylus is really doin it for me. The reviews of the device are spectacular.
The other day I used the stylus to scare off a mugger. He came at me strong but when I raised my arm in a stabbing motion with the stylus clearly visible that dude freaked and ran in terror.
So score one for korea and android the two of em are like peanut butter and jelly. Thanks google you may be a sellout bunch of hypocrites but you saved my life on that day.

You know, typically the person hurling stereotypes and personal attacks isn't in a position to claim the moral high ground here.
As for the Galaxy Note: I'll have one to test as soon as tomorrow, but having already held it and tested it for a short while... it's a niche product. It's too big to really be comfortable for a lot of phone uses, and it's too much of a two-handed device for something that's still carrying pretentions of being a phone. Just like with Windows Tablet PCs and Windows Mobile, the pen is an inherently marginalized item: the number of people who want both a mobile device and the ability to handwrite on it is far smaller than Samsung (or Microsoft) thinks.
Samsung needs to learn: people just want a good phone. Only a good phone. They don't need oversized crossover devices, "youth" phones, dual-screen phones, or anything else that would appeal a bit more to half a percent of the population. Just make fast, solidly built, easy to use phones, and they'll come. A Galaxy Nexus is far more valuable to most people than a Galaxy Note because it's easier to hold and much more designed around being a smartphone first.

I find the perception of size to be relative, especially if you are exposed to using a larger screen device for the long term. There was a day I thought 2.8" was humongous. Then 3.5". Then 3.7". Then 4". Then 4.3". Now they all look small with my Galaxy Nexus. The Note can further shift perception once you get used to it. But I keep a standard, the absolute limit for me is what I can put into my holster, nothing bigger.
Perfect size to screen ratio for me is a phone with a 4.3" screen with a qHD or HD resolution, like the EVO 3D or HTC Rezound. The resolutions means they have a narrower aspect ratio than the Galaxy S2 and is easier to wrap your hands around. The ideal phone must have minimal top and bottom bezels --- so many phones in the market are a total failure on this one. See the dream phone post on the HTC forum above. This means you can keep your phone's physical size smaller, but your front screen is bigger,. with less wasted front space.
As for Samsung, they already made their fast, simple, easy to use, easy to size, devices. Its time to experiment more and move out of the box. And yes, there are people who are looking for one device instead of carrying both a phone and a tablet. The Note is clearly not a device for everyone but it should deeply satisfy that particular niche market. That's what real marketing is --- you excel in niches, as a device trying to satisfy everyone is not really going to satisfy anyone.
+1 Drillbit!
And the Galaxy Note has proven through its success that there is a market for devices like it, so why should Samsung not take advantage of that?
Im loving my GS2 though, its size (length, breadth and width) is perfect for me, it feels amazing in my hand, but i think my limit will be the GNexus.

well, in the case of apple, you do. because whatever they put out, the lemmings will fall over the cliff for it. i'm sure that if apple put out a product called the Idogpoop, for example, and it was a new style phone that you wear around your neck and it looked like a turd, the lemmings would all be sporting them. the note is a great device, and I would love to have the stylus for my line of work, doing indoor environmental inspections and steel building construction. that would be a boon for making notes on plans etc.
Rather than wear a device around your neck why not strap it to your arm or better yet use it as a lamp shade. Some of these new Korean devices can be very versatile.
Here's an objective review, comparison an in depth review of my favorite phablet!
