I wonder if it's any better than the current Jetpack mifi/hotspots. It would be worth an upgrade if it offers USB tethering or has an second generation LTE chip.

Any news on the release date? Was announced on Jan 10 at CES.

any updates on the release of this device. Hoping it is a 2nd gen chipset which will improve reliability..
It is amazing how long it takes for a release after announcement. The same thing happened with the 4510L.
I just saw it on the Verizon web site today (was not there earlier in the week) ... appears to have the MDM9600 chip set from Qualcomm and supports world-mode.
However, this is not the latest chipset for LTE ... the MDM9615 is newer, but I have only seen some prototypes for M2M application radios with the 9615, not consumer products (yet, anyway).

What size sim does it take?
micro, not to be confused with nano
Anyone know if this MiFi's SIM slot is unlocked? Would like to use it on HSPA networks with foreign SIM cards.
I'd be surprised if Verizon allowed the Verizon-branded 4620 to be unlocked for use with foreign SIMs. Their devices that have SIMs (the "world-phones") are usually shipped with a Verizon or Vodafone SIM in it - my limited experience with three of these phones has been that non-Verizon SIMs do not seem to work.
If you do find out that I am wrong about the 4620LE, and that it will work with non-Verizon SIMs, please post here. I would consider getting it for use (in HSPA mode only, of course) with local SIMs, when I travel overseas, to get local data rates!
Yes, the Apple iPhone 5 is a bit of an exception to their usual practice - apparently, the Verizon version will work on AT&T with an AT&T SIM ... in HSPA mode only, of course, since the LTE band supported is Verizon-only. Probably this was more under Apple control than other phones in the Verizon line-up.
