MMS not working with CM7 (with a twist)

Has anyone else had this problem? I had to switch to GoSMS Pro to get MMS to work after I installed CM7 on my Triumph as it wouldn't work any longer with the stock messaging app.

I got tired of GoSMS Pro and switched to Handscent...and whatdya know?! MMS stopped working again. Is there some little trick I'm not applying for these apps? I find it odd that only GoSMS allows MMS to work.

    Suggestions?!

Also, I saw this on another forum, tried it and it didn't work:

"I had the same problem on 2 different versions of CM on 2 separate phones. This fix worked both times. Use root explorer, and make sure it is set to R/W mode (read/write). Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db and delete that file, then restart your phone. After the restart, you should be able to send and receive MMS messages."

Doesn't Handcent also have its own method for sending MMS messages? Last I checked, Go relied on the stock app for sending/receiving messages too (it specifically asked you not to delete stock just because you could).

Do you have wifi on? I've never used CM7, but I know on my Intercept, it won't send or receive MMS if wifi is on; it has to be on the network data for it to work (stock messaging app).

Thanks for the responses. I have no idea if Handcent has its own way for sending stuff, but I do know that once I installed CM7, the stock MMS didn't work and that's why I switched to outside apps. GoSMS works for MMS on my phone, but the stock version and Handcent don't. I REALLY want Handcent on mine and not GoSMS.

And I have tried it with just 3G connected, too. It just plain doesn't work unless I'm using GoSMS.

Seems to work fine for me. Did you format your filesystem and restore factory settings before flashing the ROM?

Yes. I followed the CM7 tutorials precisely. I just find it odd that MMS doesn't work with anything EXCEPT for GoSMS. I don't get it at all.

I had the same problem with my intercept, and OV, it worked to begin with, but then stopped (handcent) when I went back to the default messaging app it worked, and also GoSMS worked too.

Ok...I got that app and it says "no APN activated." I don't know what an APN is or what I should do about this. Is this the problem for MMS?

Click APN list, then click Virgin Mobile, it should turn green next to it.
