Cancelling Indirect - Anyone worried about contracts not being renewed?

As an indirect agent, my contract was always handled in a timely fashion. In the past when it was time for renewal of anything, I got the new info fairly quickly. However, that is not the case now. My contract has been month to month for the last several months and I am really feeling like it will not be renewed. I keep getting the corporate line, wait, we're working on them, next month...still nothing. I have seen it happen for other carriers agents in the past and I want to be realistic about what could happen to our stores. We aren't a premium and we get very little assistance or communication from the carrier. I feel like we're about to get canned. Does anyone out there know anything? I want to be able to transition if it's coming. I want to be prepared and I know that you guys here eat, sleep and breathe this stuff. Please give me your feedback.

There is no way to know. They can be so totally disorganized at times it is quite realistic to believe they just have not gotten around to it.

If your numbers are decent, you should probably think about something more productive, like diversification. If your numbers are crappy, you should probably think about something more productive, like diversification.

As of recently I have been seeing them renew more contracts than they have in the past so the odds are in your favor. Size and premium does not matter anymore, ive seen them shut down people with 50 stores.

I wouldn't worry too much. My last renewal wasn't timely. I think I've got months and maybe even a year without a new contract before. I was told they were working on mine, or that it would be coming up soon probably in the summer/fall of 2010. It wasn't until early 2011 at the iPhone launch when they actually did it. A fully executed contract was a requirement of iPhone sales so they had to get on the ball.

Wow...reading this just makes me sad...I remember the good old days when agents built the companies that now want to get rid of them...Its very hard to compete now against the carrier that you sell...anyways this might be helpful for some of you...

We are online master agents for T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon

This is a direct ship program where you place the order for the customer with no inventory to carry. Everything is supplied by our partners...ALL NEW and CURRENT MODEL handsets available with instant rebates!!! The phones are shipped for free next day...

    commission are as follow:

    NEW INDIVIDUAL LINES: $80.00
NEW TWO LINE FAMILY PLANS: $115.00
NEW ADD-A-LINE TO EXISTING FAMILY PLAN: $35.00

    ALL 2 YEAR UPGRADES: $25.00

There are no equipment chargebacks to the dealer only commission charegeback if a customer deactivates with in 181 days. No inventory to carry...and most importantly this option gives you the ability to COMPETE directly with Corporate..

We are also master agents for Simple Mobile and H2O...FREE SIMS and huge discounts on unlocked GSM phones...please PM for more details...

    hope this helps,

    thanks...

I no longer suffer connectile dysfunction...thanks to Sprint EVDO-Rev A... lets see what new disease I fetch...
