Since I never got the phone to activate I think the SIM is just bad. I called verizon initially and asked them if they could tell me if the sim was ok, read off the ID and he said it was OK, who knows what he was looking at but Im thinking of hitting a verizon store tomorrow.

Oh and for anyone needing to get ##program to work before activation I was able to get into it by calling *611 then startig another call, then hang up on the *611 call and call ##program enter the 000000 spc pass and viola. Just an FYI. Not that it helped my cause.

Oh I tried that. Dont do it - they wont sell or let you leave with a sim card. Oh and I tried 2 different stores.

Yep ebay, remember to buy the full size sim lte cards.

3g is 569kbps download, 138kbps upload, 128ms ping really dont want to try 1x because my 3g has been steady for a few days now and i do not want to mess with the settings

30 minutes later ping 144ms download 1239kbps upload 258kbps

i am in a 1-2 bar signal area

cdma tools will only work on the bionic in diagnostic mode, it will not do anything other than read the settings, it will not write to anything on the phone

alright new phone ... it does work! problem is Im having 3g cycling issues how do I fix the cycling?

I havenot fifured it out yet to get steady and consistant 1x ##program test mode next next change network type to csma only

New sim card came in yest today Ill try the steps again and see if they work.
The factory reset should remove the prl right? If not how would you recommend doing this?

the only way to change the prl is by cdma workshop or OTA. the 4glte prl tries to program the phone via 4g signal or 3g signal via eHRPD this will not work for pageplus. if you bypass activation and change the network settings to cdma only the phone will program and you get 1x data. other than that you need cdma workshop to change the prl (sim must be installed for this to work.) getting data after this is tricky i put the pageplus evdo prl on my bionic an am able to maintain 3g until signal drop. (Tricky *#*#info#*#* process to get this to work)
i play with the settings until i get network type to evdo rev A (without sim) change network type to unknown and turn off, and install sim and boot up. when 3g pops up i open up the browser and wait for it to turn blue. after it turns blue it will try to hang around or cycle between 3g and 1x until signal drop.

if anyone can figure out how to disable eHRPD network mode we will be able to get 3g to stick.

adam what update are you on? we might be able to fix by updating to .901-.902, go into ##program disable bppanic.

i am still on the .893 i do not see that option in ##program how do you get to it?

There are two options that are added in .901 bppanic which I think is to stop it from searching for 4g and lte settings. These are also present on the droid razr. Check here for what they did on cricket. Be careful updating might stop you from getting root access.

updating will wipe the nam programing
If you update you have to reactivate with a new sim card damnit.
