I'm really getting tired of the WP bashing

The title pretty much spells it out. I am sick of hearing how Windows Phone pales in comparison to Android, IOS, whatever. I've used all of them and I'm really impressed with Mango's stability, usability and clean look. Yet, somehow, I always manage to come across some idiot who has to bad mouth my phone for what it is. Why can't people just accept that THEIR phone may not be what I want for myself? Sorry, just had to vent.

To heck with flowers and candy, leave the jewelry at the store, but when it comes to cell phones, I always want one more.

I have my HTC Surround since launch.. still loving it.. lots..

    Waiting for Lumia 900.

Fanboys are fanboys, they just can't accept that people can pick whichever they like for themselves and whatever fits them.

Sometimes I think fanboys tries very hard to convince others to get on their platform because they need someone else to affirm that they made the right choice

    Cheers...

Haha, I thought I was the only one who noticed. I don't know what it is, but I've seen it a lot lately. On nearly every Windows Phone or Nokia Lumia article on the internet, there's someone saying "Windows Phone is dead," Windows Phone sucks," or "Microsoft fails." It seems worse than the trolling I see on articles or blog posts about Apple or Android.

I would prefer windows phones if there was access to as many apps and games as on an android phone but unfortunately it's not the case. I had a touch pro 2 for the longest time and I loved it.

    Nokia $ucks tho.

Let the ignorant remain so. You have seen the light so to say. Brush them off, even indulge them and say their phone is better. Then quickly ignore them by being occupied with your phone. They will quickly sour their attitude when you pay them no more attention.
How is it that we give up houses, businesses and bank accounts when we want a divorce but can't part with a couple of hundred bucks to find cellphone bliss?

Its a Windows thing - people can't get over it...

You could call it a Sanyo and it would still be a great phone!

Maybe they will call WP8 Xbox or something...

^ pretty much sums it up. its all about personal pref.. most of the people bashing online probably haven't used all the mobile platforms anyway.

when i was hanging out with my buddies a few days after i picked my phone up ( there was 3 iphones, 1 torch there at the time) the consensus was that my phone was pretty nice, im pretty sure i am the only person they know that has a wp which is good when the only thing alot people have to differentiate the looks of their phone is by getting a different case.

Can't speak for the iOS users, but as a former WinMO user and a current Android user I can shed some light on this situation for SOME of the users.

I was very heavy into WinMo, modding, the works. It was a mod friendly OS and so many things could be done with it. As we all know, Microsoft pretty much abandoned WinMo and WP7 took forever to show up on the scene.

A lot of us jumped to Android in response. It's robust, customizable, and can nearly do everything. A dream to work with for the most part. Now enter WP7. The locked down nature of the devices made most of us sick to our stomach's. To many of us, they are acting no different than Apple with their walled garden approach. If we wanted that, we would have jumped to the iPhone.

Fanboys are fanboys, and WP7 doesn't appeal to me one bit for many of the same reasons as iOS isn't appealing to me. What fits me is Android, and perhaps what fits you guys is WP7. Maybe sometime in the future WP7 will go back to it's roots and become developer friendly again, who knows.

And we have to remember, some people just troll just to troll, whether on a forum or IRL. Don't let it bother you. It doesn't bother me any.

Let them bash. Especially the android crowd. My nexus s, despite being a dev phone straight from Google has been force closing left and right since the day I got it.

The damn thing won't even let me use Skype and browse Facebook at the same time without grinding to a snails pace!

The stability of the iOS and WP7 platforms is something no android phone can provide. The inherit problem is that the androids force fluidity and smoothness by specs, but time and time again the iPhones and wp7 have shown you don't need super speed x level classified chips to do basic tasks.

I disagree again. All of my Android devices run as smooth as silk, and I can upload a video to prove it.

FYI. The Skype app is very poorly written, and I had many issues with it. Seems they haphazardly pieced it together just to get something out.

Same with Facebook when I had it installed, now I just use the mobile site.

My main device is nowhere near top of the line (evo shift) but runs stable and smooth.

I'm glad it's not just me. I can see the draw of Android for some. I've rooted my fair share of them. . I finally got to the point where I just wanted something that works for me out of the box. WP did that for me beautifully. IOS has its strong points too. Everyone is different hence all the choices out there for us to choose from.

My Galaxy S2 has been very stable, with no force closes since i got it. Its just as fast as a iPhone4S, and very fluid, havent had any issues with it, same with my friends Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, no issues and very fast plus fluid.
If Android was as bad as you're trying to make it out to be it would not be successful in the high end as it is as nobody would be prepared to pay so much and get such a poor experience and stick with it, thats just simple logic.

Android isn't that bad per say, but it can be buggy. I've had several Android phones and each one had its flaws that led me to get rid of them. Poor battery life, force closing, low memory warnings, etc. It may be tolerable for some, but I couldn't deal with it. I have yet to encounter any major issues with my Radar (knock on wood). Right now my only complaint is the lack of accessories but that's not an OS thing. Android is popular as is IOS, but for some reason people can't grasp that WP is an excellent option too. It is relatively new so the opportunity for improvement is there too, making it even more desirable. Why not accept that Android and IOS are not the end all beat all. I remember Blackberry being the best device out there with a huge fan following. Now it's barely keeping up.
