I remember when Palette came out and I thought it was slow and laggy, then I tried it on a Galaxy S II and it was even worse. I don't think it's well optimized for anything, let alone dual-core CPUs. I tested the Fujitsu "NX Comfort UI" home launcher yesterday on the F-05D, much much much better!

I always wonder why ISP/Carrier software developers can never get things right lol...

It works relatively smoothly on my n-06c though.

Still, GoLauncher/LauncherPro/etc are all way faster haha

Add to that list the manufacturer customizations. Some just can't do it right.

I have noticed though on the Fujitsu phones and the NEC phones, its runs ALOT better than the Sharp and Panasonic ones. I wonder if it has to do with how Both Fujitsu and NEC still are 100% made in Japan, and probably was tested alot more before release to fine tune the software / ui to work well with the hardware

How is Palette on the SH-01D? I'd expect it to run pretty well what with the dual-core processor and all that...

Nope it still studders or lags sometimes. I switched my personal one to the regular android home UI and everything becomes super smooth and fast.

Unhappy This might be a stupid question...

I just got this phone and I have a data plan with Fido (Canada). I have WiFi at home and all the apps that use internet work perfectly, but once I'm out of the house, I rely on the Fido data plan for internet and today I found out it doesn't work.
I checked all my settings and somehow my phone says I'm roaming. I don't have internet.
I had an iPhone 4, and everything worked fine so I know the plan is working fine.
I have my network set up to switch automatically between 3G and GSM.

Am I doing something wrong? Even though the phone is unlocked, I cannot have internet access unless I'm using WiFi?

I would appreciate any answer to my question and your time.
    Thank you all!

Lets see if I can help

    1. First get a new simcard. You don't want to use a simcard which was previously used in an Iphone in a Android phone. I have had alot of customers who used iphone simcards then put them into docomo android phones and your problem is one of many that can occur
    2. If after you get a new simcard its still not working. Then make sure you have the APN setup correct in your phone to match your cellular network

Try these and tell me what happens

Thank you so much. I'll order a new simcard and try everything you just told me. I'll let you know in the following weeks if it worked. I'll send you a message if you don't mind.

I didn't try to get the new simcard, since I'm a Fido user long before iPhone existed and my simcard is one of the old ones... I just cut it to fit the iPhone a year ago (to get a new one is $35... so pricey!)
So I went directly to change the APN settings, searched on the web for the Fido APN settings, and voila! IT WORKS!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! now I love my phone even more than before!
If you sell keitais on ebay, I think I bought it from you.

    Exclamation What have I done?

I was playing around with my new F-03D and since it has very little internal storage I decided to delete some unused apps to free some space...
The thing is I deleted the machi-chara app, thinking I could download it again from an empty link... -I assumed this because I also deleted many other and I could still see the link to download again- but I've searched everywhere in my phone and the machi-chara is really gone
Does anyone know to get it back? I would really appreciate any help...

I don't have that phone, but I'd assume that it has an option to factory reset it. If it has, then you should do a backup and then do that. ... But don't do anything till other people in the forum tell if that would work

I know this post has already tons of pictures and very nice videos of the phone, but I wanted to submit my own: the unboxing of the F-03D Arrows Kiss.
