I have the LG O Slider. There is 512MB but only 181MB for apps + their cache. I use the App2SD app to keep as much as I can on the SD card.

Same here, except that I use Quick App Manager instead of Apps2SD.

Oh gotcha, so maybe an obvious question but is the Optimus Slider a better phone from the LG Ally?

The Optimus Slider has a faster processor and a newer version of Android, so yes, it would be the better of the two phones.

The Ally has camera flash, slightly better keyboard, and a higher resolution screen. But there's no custom roms that I've found for it, so you'd be stuck on stock Froyo unless there's an upgrade out there.

The camera flash and that jazz I'm not concerned with. I just care about something that functions well without glitches in the system and stuff. That was my main problem with the ally it wasn't fast enough and very low memory. But that's great about the Op Slider though. I may get it on VM or ST

Yeah, the Slider (or Optimus Q on Net10) performs very well, comparably to the Triumph in terms of straight functionality. It's missing the features you mentioned, but the screen resolution isn't a big deal-breaker at that size (unless you really get close to it) and while it takes a bit of time to get used to, the keyboard is sufficient.

-looks up the Ally's keyboard-- okay, the Ally keyboard is definitely better. But still, I rarely use the builtin keyboard on my device (I opt for Swype, which is faster and less finger-intensive).

Starting in March, there will be a 2.5GB soft cap on data for Beyond Talk accounts. When you hit 2.5GB within a plan month, you'll receive a text message notification and your data rate will be throttled back to 256K for the rest of the month.

Eh, we here are talking about VM probably because this is a VM forum. But physically the phones are almost identical, except for maybe the logos on them.
