My Daughter misplaced her Page Plus phone last night so I called it several times from my Page Plus phone. She did not find it by my ringing it so I looked on the Page Plus site to see if it was being used. I found entrys for Outgoing Calls showing her phone # as the # called during the time it was missing so assumed someone had found it and was playing with it.
A while later I realised that the call times were the times I called her phone and it went unanswered, I would have expected them to be taged as incoming calls.
I have seen the outgoing call display her # before if the call time is1 minute and always assumed they were of to short a duration for the real called # to be captured.
Anyway, we found the phone under the seat of her car but I am confused by the call records on the site. Can anyone explain why it works this way??
I looked at my call records and O/G calls show the number I dialed. I/C calls show the originating number. I'm not sure what's happening with your daughter's phone but it certainly merits a call to CS. When my own number appears in the number column it's because I've checked my voice mail. But what I don't understand is why I have a bunch of random calls showing my own number in the number column, all with a duration of 1 minute, but no change of my balance. There are calls showing on days that I know for a fact that I didn't call my voice mail or even use my phone. As long as it doesn't deplete my balance I'm not going to concern myself with it, but it's strange.

I have noticed the same thing. I even wrote CS, but I did not understand their answer. However, like you, since it is not charging me anything, I have let it go. Just seems odd, that is for sure.
I have heard that Verizon's CDMA technology is such that if a call would be under something like 5 (or maybe 10 at the most- not sure the exact #) seconds, the call is not a call that is billed to an account.

In my case I am talking about postings on my account for "calls" not made, but there is a posting with $0 charge.
Tryed a few tests using both my Page Plus phone and my home phone calling my Wifes Page Plus phone. I let her phone ring 6 times then hung up.
My Wifes call record showed 2 outgoing calls to her own #, and 0 minutes used. So my Wifes acts the same as my Daughters does,
It's no big deal as they are not charging minutes but makes the call records usless in a lost phone situition as it makes it look like someone is making outgoing calls on the lost phone when it was us calling trying to locate the phone.
It may be showing out going because there is no number to show as incoming since it was not answered. To test it make to calls and do not answer make one call and answer and then make to more call but don't answer.
See how they show up the answered call may show as incoming with the number called from.
I have the same problem with my son's phone, and came on here to see if anyone else was encountering this. The number that shows on the Call Records is my son's number, and the calls are listed as outgoing. The call duration is always listed as one minute, except for one case, where it was three minutes. There are no charges because he is on an unlimited plan. This has been happening every few days or so for about a week and a half. This is a phone that is currently locked up and not in use at all, as my son is in the hospital.
My guess was that it was friends leaving voicemail messages, which could explain that one call duration of three minutes. I called the number just now and left a voicemail message of my own, but it does not show up (yet, anyway) on his call records.
Yes, that is what I have determined, as well. When it shows my number, and says "outgoing", it was actually an unanswered incoming call. The minutes shown would depend on how long the voicemail message was (or if they just hung-up). I have a per-minute plan, and these calls are not charged.
