yeah my family speaks toisan, but they understand most cantonese, unfortunately for my parents were born in latin america so yeah, Im stuck speaking spanish instead doh
Mostly HK and parts of Guangzhou I think. The rest speak Mandarin.
Went to Guangzhou to Panyu and most people incl. hotel people spoke mandarin.

Don't forget a huge overseas Cantonese population in Vancouver. You hear it more than Mandarin.
Though, I can understand ~half of general Mandarin conversations but the only thing I know in Cantonese is "gweilo"
Even though my family's from HK, I'm not really *that* Chinese as I'm raised up in Australia. Though my HK friends have been using the term 'gweilo' so much that even my Korean and Indian friends now refer to Caucasian people by that term.

Oh yeah. I flew YVR-NRT on Air Canada and the announcements/service were/was in English, French, Japanese and Cantonese. Goes to show how huge the Canto presence is in Vancouver. (this is a flight going nowhere near Hong Kong/China)

My family's from HK and I was raised in Canada (like many of the Cantonese pop. in Vancouver/Toronto eddieroolz mentioned above), and we still consider ourselves Chinese
