I just transferred my number to PP, I did online and in a instant (literally a minute later) my port was completed. I never have had a port done so fast. It might have helped alot, since it was only coming from Verizon! Would that still be considered a port?
Anyways, it was fast, and if they start their promotion for the $55 plan sometime soon, i'll switch to that plan. If not, I might consider their $30 plan.

You're right, could very well be a record. That's the kind of report that many online PP dealers do not like to see get out in the wild. I mean, if you can simply call PP CS or use their website to do a port-in and have it complete in a matter of minutes, no hassle and for FREE, then it becomes less convincing that one should use a dealer that is charging 10-15 bux. (just between you and me, I don't believe many if any numbers get lost in the port-in process, so that ads no benefit to using a dealer either).......many kudo's to ngnetzky!
I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.
yeah, I think PP is getting a lot better at this stuff.
i called in at the beginning of the month to port. gave the CSR my number, pin, info, esn, etc. she processed the port and said hold on just a moment (about 20 seconds)
I asked what she was doing and she said she was refreshing the account to see if the port had already been released instantly and then came about about 10 seconds later and it had. programming and then done, all in about 2 minutes.
I've done two ports from sprint, they both completed in less than 1 hour. I just kept calling the phone number every 10-15 minutes to see if it was done.
Yeah it might be free to go on the website but if you mess something up it can become a real headache. Escpecially wit page plus and there long holds.
I guess if it is too difficult for one to enter the correct info during the simple process then maybe they do need their hand held. But it doesn't matter if you use the PP website or call PP CS or go the dealer route, somewhere along the way you are going to have to be capable of giving someone the correct info so things don't get messed up. So I'm not sure what 'you' can mess up.
I'm trying to recall the last time I have seen anyone complain on here about PP losing a number that they were porting in....I just cannot remember.....it really does seem to not be much of an issue. Of course others may want you to believe that it is. But those are normally the dealers charging 10-20 bux to port your number.
My buddy ported a landline # to his cell and it took him 14 days. Then another buddy of mine had it done in 5 days. I think the end answer is right now the landline ports can vary alot. I hope this helps you, Tracnet, and thanks for all your help.

I may port my home landline, which is ATT. Back quite a few months ago it seemed like landline ports were taking 1-2 weeks. The port process time isn't a factor in that decision - just curious. Thanks for the input!
