50 to 60 new in Toronto from 2011? It sure sounded like that number included 20 to 30 that are still yet to come. or is it an additional 20 to 30 on top of that 50 to 60? So is the real number for Toronto for 2011 really 30 to 40?
I did not understand the "20 to 30..coming out in the next 60 days" (unspecified markets) to be part of the 50 or 60 sites he stated they "increased [in] Toronto" (past tense). I did understand that a number of sites were started in 2011 that are yet to be completed, and understood they are in the 20 to 30 number.
The queston was '2011 densificaiton.. how many towers did you put up?', the answer 'doubled in Vancouver, 50 to 60 in Toronto, another 20 or 30 coming up (in unspecified markets)'. That's what I understood.
I replayed that part of the video again. It sure sounded like another 20 to 30 in the next 60 days on top of the 60 from last year. I am a bit skeptical. 20 is a lot different than 30. He said this like someone pulling numbers out of the air. 30 more towers would be like adding 10% to the gta. There should be a measurable change in coverage. I was there for most of the 60 from last year, but could not really tell if there was a difference. Not expecting a whole lot of change any time soon.

That was the problem for me. It does make me skeptical that such a large number of towers placed in Toronto yet I and many of the other current and past Mobi Toronto customers didn't notice any kind of improvement.
Personal Plans:

U c, that's part of what ppl ask me, Mobi keeps focusing on expansion but the service still so so in some areas, they should focus on improving the service, expansion is good but if u keep ppl happy those will bring more ppl in, u can expand but u can't forget those u already cover, the Q&A session could have been better and longer but things started a bit late and then things got a bit rough with the GN, in regards to that I only have to say, use Logic, if ur not a customer then don't feel upset or down cause ur not awarded the phone, logic follows that those who are customers have the advantage and u may have to forfeit the prize, be glad u were allowed to take part of the event to the point of even ask a question, again is the second HofoLicity, lessons are learned and for the next some things can be avoided based on this years experience.
Congratz to Lokyee on bringing a new (future) Hofo member!
Congrats to lokyee and her new little one! I do feel for janeymc, for it was the embarrassment and awkwardness from the situation that caused all of the confusion. The collective "oooohhhh" and giggling when she admitted that she was not a HowardForums member, or a Mobilicity customer was, I'm sure if everyone's being honest, followed by a collective "wait. . . .WHAT?!!?" in the attendees heads when the prize was "taken away" so quickly. It was pretty clear even after janey's question that she was one of those who might win the phone. I know Mobilicity monitors the forums, and they've been nothing short of sensational with me, giving me credits and incredible customer service. Hopefully they might be able to offer an enticement to janeymc to become a customer and foster goodwill.
It's a free event. You got to converse with the CEO and Marketing Director of a company, who listened to and answered questions from regular subs. This is a rare occurrence. This little PR snafu, is something that would be avoided by a simple preamble as to eligibility.
Just to clear the air, the prize was meant for HoFo members. People who asked their questions where supposed to give their HoFo username. I don't think a lot of us realized that - LOL maybe we need to sign a contest agreement if we do this again

I think everyone who didn't win or didn't get to ask a question should blame Fenrry for the most ramblingest open-ended entry ...
Yeah, I guess I was looking to win the phone....oh wait I have 3....I was looking for answers, and if u check the video then u realize that initially there was only a few ppl asking questions, also for Q&A u can't expect to have 20 mins and then run off.
U don't go on a mission with half of the intel and a ton of questions cause that will translate in a lot of losses, u get the most info and a silly question asked is not a silly question but new information available to those looking for it.
I'm a little late putting these online, but here are some photographs that I took at the Hofolicity meet:
The 2nd to last picture there, the Asian guy on the left, for some odd reason, my gut tells me that's wilsonlam97. He just looks like like a Wilson Lam to me =P
Or I'm totally wrong, then the 97 would mean that WL should be 14 or 15 lol.

A few days ago I was in Milton and had signal... I was quite surprised and was able to make a test call and send a text with no issues... Keep in mind I was driving on the highway and had only one - two bars but still, I was quite impressed...
Stewart Lyons, 27:00, in answer to a question about traffic shaping: "it's still unlimited.. we have people that do, I look at reports all the time, people that do 2-3 Gigs a night.. there's lots of people that do 60, 70, 80 Gigs a month"
Anthony Booth, 47:25: "That's part of the consumer promise.. what we stand for, we stand for unlimited.. we believe long-term, we've set up the business such that we can actually be the only true, real, unlimited player in the market place.. we really do believe that, unlimited, we can hang our hat on, we know how to do it better and cheaper than anyone else is.. right now there's a strong case to say, carve out that position in the marketplace where you can be unlimited, and stay unlimited, other people may retreat from it over time.. there are no plans at all to actually move away from unlimited.."
Stewart Lyons, 48:40, in response to Howard's (HC-NO-i) "it's more like unlimited with an asterisk": "it's still unlimited, just because it gets slowed down for a couple hours because you use too much per time, I just told you, people use 60 Gigs a month, 70 Gigs.. there's no limit, you can use as much as you want". Howard: "..are a lot of people doing that?" Stewart: "yeah, there's actually a fair number.. the fact is it's still unlimited.. other folks do a soft cap at 5 Gigs, everything else, we don't, you keep going.. just because we try to make it sort of level and even doesn't mean it's not unlimited"
It's a marketing gimmick, nothing more than that. It's actually funny how the marketing guys keep talking unlimited, while the network guys try to keep a straight face.
In all fairness, unlimited does work when trying to get peoples attention. And the voice and texting part can still be unlimited, almost. But not data, not without an *
