    Electrify Battery Problem

Hello all - I love my Electrify and generally have had great luck with the battery (especially using JuiceDefender). Over the last week the battery has started draining from full to out in about 3 hours with limited or no use. I have tried uninstalling apps, looking at usage, etc...pretty much pulled my hair out. I am ready to wipe the phone to rule out a software issue. Anyone else had a sudden problem like this with a battery before? Any recommendations before I replace it? The phone was bought new in Nov.. Thanks in advance.

If the battery was fine when you first got it and is now just giving you problems, the first thing I would do is go to an US Cellular store and do a free battery swap. It could be that the battery has just started losing it's charge and not properly charging for whatever reason. The battery swap is free and takes less then 5 minutes to do in the store.

After that, if you are still having trouble, there must be something running in the background draining it down. Make sure you are turning Wi-fi and the GPS off when you're not using those features since this will drain the battery fast also.

Hope everything works out for you!

In the interest of information sharing - here's what I did. I started removing apps 1 by 1 until the phone was almost void of any. I did several battery pulls. Still no results. Finally I did a "Reset to Factory" through the O/S and voila - problem solved. Now I am just restoring my apps one by one and hopefully it was just a fluke software problem.

Could you tell me if you found the interfering app? I don't have a battery drain problem, but I think it's a battery issue. Factory reset worked for me too, but I couldn't detect the problem installing one app at a time. Thanks.

If this is your first android phone, these go through battery pretty quickly compared to normal cell phones and even other smartphones. My Electrify is on the charger every night, even without much time talking, probably some has to do with my Activesync email, gmail, and my yahoo email app. It gets even worse if you are playing games or watching youtube videos. The HTC Merge phone was just as bad and I work with quite a few guys with the Mesmerize and they are charging everyday or more.

You might be able to go into settings/battery and data manager and find out what is using the most battery- mine usually lists "phone idle" as the biggest battery user
