Question Want to remove Power Up (Hello Hello Hello) & Power Down sounds from Samsung Code

My phone was just replaced, and I am now using a different computer (Vista) and sync program than previously.
With my other phone (also a Code), I was able to find and replace the Power Off and Power On .wav and .mp3 files very quickly. With this new phone and/or Windows Mobile, I can not find the files (hidden, locked, protected???). Can anyone tell me how to locate them and replace them?
    Thanks so much!

Also, how do I know what version of Windows - 6. or 6.5? Where would I check for this?

    Its such an annoying tone

I agree with you that the Hello Hello Hello is so retarded and quite Aspergerish that they need to delete it from all phones. A nice melody would be better than this hello hello hello s---. In fact they need to get rid of it on their ads, when you call in etc. I can think of a better ad Metro PCS Unlimit yourself or MetroPCS Wireless beyond boundaries etc. Not this Hello Hello Hello crap.

On my Samsung Freeform III I went to Sound Settings Power On/Power Off and turned both the Power on and Power Off tones to off so it won't play when the phone turns on or off.

One idea is to get QPST and look under sounds the name of the file should be something like MetroPCS.mp3 or Poweron.mp3 and poweroff.mp3 to replace it you should just select the mp3 file you want or delete it from the phone.

If not I would do the first option above and switch the sounds off.

I know the names are Power On.wav and Power off.wav.
The problem seems to be that I can no longer access the Windows folder to replace the files. I cannot access or even see it using Windows Mobile Device Center, and I can see it in Device Manager on the phone, but I can not paste anything to it...
there is no way to switch the sounds off from this phone - that's why I need to overwrite the files.
    What is QPST??
    TIA!

qpst is qualcomm product support tools. it is a program used to manipulate alot of settings on cdma phones. your best bet is to find total commander for windows mobile and use that to do what you want to do.
