OK so i decided to come here to see which way is worth to go for my iPhone plan i would like to have.
Heres this plan Verizon pitched to me for 450 Min with F&F (Promo for their customers) with unlimited texting and unlimited data (grandfathered). But with my discount it should come to about 80 a month.
But with Sprint plan it appears you can get free calls to any phones using Talkatone and the GV integration which is what is making me think about going there because i would like to use my GV number the same as my regular mobile number. Plus i get unlimted text, data and free calls to other cell phones anyway. So if i can use the bankone chase discount (don't work there but seems like you can use it with gmail address). Does it sound more worth going to Sprint as opposed to staying with Verizon? Or if i cant get the discount am i better off using the EREP or whatever its called?
Do you know the performance of both carriers in your area? There's no point of a carrier offering you a better rate if their service is much worse than the competition. What would be more important to you, voice/text or data performance? Again, both would matter depending on where you'll use your iPhone.
I have a 4S on Sprint and the big variable will be 3G speed. When the 4S first came out, Sprint performance was horrible. If you search around Google you will see many stories about the terrible performance. That being said, Sprint has been upgrading capacity on their towers and in some places, I am able to get speeds around 900Kbps or so. Sadly, the tower near my home has not been upgraded nor is it on the list to be upgraded in the next six months .
As for GV integration, I have yet to figure that one out. I used the GV app on my iPhone to call family in Canada and wound up getting billed for long distance by Sprint. The GV app dialed through the Sprint network. For now, I have changed settings to use "Click2Call" and make GV call me first before completing the call. Be warned! I never had the problem on my iPod Touch 4 (which makes sense because it is not a phone).
But also i care a bit more for talk and text and data is not so much a requirement but would like to have. I mean as long as the speeds are not dial up speed and faster than dial up internet speed then im fine with it. I just like using my phone for email and web browsing.
With the next iPhone coming out to be LTE and they way Verizon has been rolling out with LTE, that would be your best bet because they are offering you unlimited data. You can also use Google Voice as a number with your Friends and Family.

I actually thought of this i don't really need unlimited minutes on my phone so much because i can use the Obi 100 thing and use a cordless phone with it and with the GV integration i don't really need to choose between 2 numbers. But i can still get the device and remain on Verizon apparently.

I like Sprint, but there is no way I would give up a Verizon unlimited data plan for Sprint's offerings at any price.
Well actually i may just get the iPhone 4 on Straight Talk since they have a very good plan for those devices and the new program they are starting. So its definitely worth looking into.

But with a level playing field, new account vs new account, you may save a few bucks on Sprint, especially if you have a family plan, plus the unlimited data is nice even if it may be slower (in some areas)

I see, but question is Sprint close to reliable service as Verizon? I wouldn't mind having Sprint for the iPhone since it is cheaper and i would get more features but i was debating either Sprint iPhone or ST iPhone for 45 a month.

The ST works off T-Mobile for most GSM phones now. If you find an AT&T one, your speeds are capped at 200-300Kbps. Sprints service is no where near as reliable nationwide as Verizons. Also, look at the long plan. Verizon is spending more and more money on its network then Sprint can even think about. Even tho they can roam on Verizon, you are limited to the amount you can use before you are booted off Sprint for ever.

That's not true. ST BYOD for example is either T-mobile or AT&T - your choice.
My latest speedtest on ST (AT&T 3G) was 5.9MB/s dl and 1.4MB/s UP using an iphone 4s
