This is probably a long shot I know but I was wondering if anyone has found a text to speech or voice recognition app that might work on this phone? I believe that if there was one that worked for the similar model EX128, that it could work for this one as well. Anyone have any idea if there is an app for that available yet? Would love to have it! =)

Wow! You stumped us. I guess there's not that many of us using ex124g phones.
Does that phone have an app market?

My opinions are mine, not yours, no one says you have to agree with them! =)
Wouldn't be possible on a Tracfone/Net10 EX124G....
If a text to speech (TSS) app were available for Java mobile, it would most certainly need the support of a server to do the thinking. Maintaining the server costs money and would be difficult to consider when Java mobile continues to lose popularity. Recently we just lost the option to use 'Bolt' for an alternative browser, because it depends on a server that was shut down for good.
While the TSS app was in use, an internet connection would be required. That would burn minutes.
A number of java class permissions required to accomplish this would be locked out which is typical for TF/Net10.
You also have to consider what formats they EX124G can handle as well. What is the source of text you'd want to have converted to speech? If taking text from another running app (like web browser) forget it. No permissions for that.
No speech synthesis available on the phone. A work around would be required. Something like manually dump the text into a file, have TSS app send contents of file to server, converts it to a sound format that will work on the Ex124G, then manually play it back.....
Scratch that, can't save files from internet like that. Permissions thing.
tracfonecruiser, I absolutely LOVE my EX124G..I cant imagine why there wouldnt be many people using them..
K-L-M, I basically wanted to use it for composing text messages..Nothing else..However I did find that I could just make a recording via the voice recorder and send that as a MMS message just as well. So much faster than typing out letters on a keyboard!! =)
The EX124g uses JAVA ME so if you searched "J2ME text to speech" there seems to be some stuff about it.
