I upgraded to the first version of the Galaxy S2 which is 4g hspa only. I couldn't tell a difference in data speeds from my nexus 1 and was dissapointed. I had numerous issues with it; frequent dropped calls, calls not completing, no data connection or really slow connection (in downtown Houston) when my work iPhone 4s worked perfect on att 3g. After I jumped through hoops with customer care, I finally got them to offer me an early upgrade to the Skyrocket. The best part is that there was a promo for customers upgrading from the regular GS2 and it was a free upgrade.
I read one review that said the processor was slightly slower despite the 1.5 vs 1.3, but its noticeably better.
I finally got into LTE coverage and I'm amazed at how fast the data connection is., 18.8Mbs down, 4.3Mbs up.
Awesome!

That's great to hear - this will likely be my next upgrade unless an ICS phone shows up (heard that Skyrocket would get ICS but Samsung/AT&T updates have been terrible).
Can you verify one thing for me quickly: When you have an alarm set, does the lock screen show the next alarm time? Some phones have it & some don't.
What's the point of all that speed when you'll get throttled in no time.
+1
If you are on LTE, AT&T should NOT be throttling. The advanced backhaul can handle the extra data so keeping the usage "fair" for all users isn't a legitamite excuse.
I just upgraded to the Skyrocket last week, and I agree, this phone is AWESOME, and a BEAST! We don't have LTE up here in Mendocino County yet, from anybody (though AT&T, Verizon and U.S. Cellular all plan on getting it here), but I am getting 8000-9000 down and around 1000 up on HSPA+ w/Enhanced Backhaul, I am LOVING those speeds! By the way, if you are eligible for an upgrade this year, and register by Feb 12th with Best Buy you will get a $50 Gift Card for upgrading through them, I used mine to buy a case with some left over, thanks BB.
Edit-Just go here and enter your phone number and email address by February 12th-
Hi all: I am interested in upgrading to a LTE phone but still wants to regularly use the sim in non LTE phones. I have heard the sim cards in the LTE phones are different, but I assume these new sim cards will work just fine in non LTE phones for data, is that correct? Thanks.
