UPDATE: I finally got it activated. I kept getting the same semi-stupid girl at PP customer service, but I finally got her to cooperate long enough to do it; apparently, she didn't hear the whole ESN either, which I didn't know (she talked VERY fast and didn't repeat back anything). Only thing I need to do now is figure out if I actually need to enter any more SIDs and stuff.
I've tried followed the instructions to have my Qualcomm GSP-1600 Globalstar phone on PP, but keep running into brick walls. Calling got me shut out and trying to do it online yielded "Device Rejected". For some reason, the thread for it is in the Kyocera directory. Anyway, it seems this isn't a problem specific to this phone but to its age (pre-PRL, OTA programming, and E-911). I've read elsewhere that people were activating as late as Christmas 2011, but haven't seen anything new since the new year. Am I doing something wrong or has PP indeed changed to allow only "modern" phones to activate?
Mike
P.S. Trying to get a local PP dealer to do it for me, waiting for a call back, but I don't have a lot of hope...
Also have info and can get it activated for you if PP isn't doing what you want them to do. See my satellite phone blog at www.satphonebrad.com
Hope this helps the next guy. Following the Globalstar Survival Guide I was able to make it happen, just depends on the PP activator if they want to get snotty or not.
