    Switching phones

I was planning on switching back to my Optimus V and Selling my Triumph. They are both rooted and they do not have a stock rom installed.

Will I have any problems with this? I will go to the VM website and swap phones, but will the "activation" need done on the Optimus again? AFAIK The activation will not work on the CM7 version of the Optimus?

your going back to the optimus right?
because the V runs on froyo as long as your running a froyo based rom you should be able to activate it
I had asked about putting a ICS based rom on a unactivated V and was told just swap to a froyo rom to activate
    hope that helps

Make a nandroid backup of the CM7 rom, restore the stock nandroid backup you should've made when you put CM7 on your phone, then restore the CM7 backup once the activation is complete.

EDIT: This should have been posted in the Android section, don't be surprised if it gets moved there.

the phone you want to be re-activated needs to have a stock-based ROM. (CyanogenMod, or MIUI if they ever put that on the Optimus, do not support the Activate app.)

You could probably make a backup of the phone's current state, flash a stock ROM, activate, and then restore... as far as I know. (maybe just the /data can be restored... I'm no professional at what parts of the phone this writes to.)

I apologize if this was the wrong section. I posted here because I was thinking this was a VM specific problem and not an android. I appreciate the support. I will attempt to switch back and let you all know about my success.
