looking to get away from verizon, looking at 2 phones, samsung galaxy II skyrocket and the apple i phone 4s.I live in north central indiana and looks like at&t has good coverage in my area.
My main question,is there a difference in reception with phones?I always thought verizon had the best coverage but in my workplace(a factory) I am currently using a droid x and my team mate uses and i phone 4(not 4s).He can get, videos, web pages and make calls, just runs circles around me getting 3g service when we are right next to each other.he has at&t and i have verizon.I barely get 1x and the phone has to be in a certain area to get that, can't make calls, barely get a web page to load.
So i was wondering, would it have more to do with the phone or the carrier? Not sure if different phones have better radios in them if that is the correct term.I like the skyrocket better but not if the reception tends to be worse.
I am not pro android or pro apple,I just want a phone that works, after all I pay a lot of money per month for this phone and right now I am not getting the service I am paying for.I think both of these are great phones.
Also i don't normally like to mess around with my phone,I did root the droid x but never really experimented with any roms, just doesn't appeal to me.But i do a lot of camping and like that I can tether my phone to my laptop with a cord and use it while we are camping.I am not interested in wireless hotspot stuff.
Thanks!
