Thanks, Boz1, for pointing this out. The MMS data transport rate is correct on the Standard plan page, but is indeed outdated on the Features/MMS page. It wasn't updated when the data rate was lowered from $1.20 to $.99/MB. I'll have it updated.

Still, MMS data transport gets charged in kilobytes ($0.00099/KB), so a 20KB MMS would cost about $0.02 and a 200KB MMS would cost about $0.20. When it's put in terms of $.99/MB it sounds like a picture message costs $1.24 - $.25 for the message plus $.99 for the data transport - which is certainly not the case.

The answer to the other part is that on the Standard plan, SMS are different than MMS, regardless of whether a Power Text plan is also on the account. So even with a PT, an MMS is charged out of the balance, not taken out of the PT. So even with a PT, MMS is $.25 plus data transport.

    Okay. Thanks for the clarification.

Is this different than on the voice monthly plans, or do the voice monthly plans also incur the $0.25/MMS+data cost?

BTW, I did state that the data cost is based on the MMS size, and I used an example of 1MB, simply because so many smart phones have 4 to 8 MP cameras, that a picture message could easily be 1MB or more.

The monthly bundle plans include the message part of an MMS in the SMS/MMS allotment, so no $.25 per, and the data transport element of the MMS hits the data bucket. Any MMS not covered in the bundle plan is $.10/MMS ("overage" rate in the case of TnT 1200 and the 12 plan, "non-renewal" rate in the case of UTnT and the 55 plan, which both have unlimited SMS/MMS).
