Lists it's radio bands as being:
Frequencies
GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz
HSPA 850/1900/2100 Mhz
I notice the 1700 Mhz used for Windmobile is missing. Is this just them hiding information or is it really not on the phone? I've read that people are using Nexus Galaxies from Fido on Wind, so I'm just wondering how that works and if it would be better to get it from Wind even if it's more expensive. I have some Fido $$ to burn before I leave.

A data contract is required to use your fido dollars on a smartphone, so if you're planning to spend your fido dollars and jump ship, this isn't exactly what you'd want to do anyways.

Depends on how many FD we are talking about. If you have enough to buy it without subsidy (or little) then the cancelation shouldn't come to that much under the new rules, should it? If we are talking about $100 FD or something, then no it probably isn't a great idea, though it may still be cheaper than buying it at full price elsewhere.
If you need to apply your fido dollars towards a data contract as a stipulation to using them up, I guess the next best option is to apply it to your monthly plan so you're getting "free smart phone service" until the time you decide to jump ship.

I don't think you can do that either. You can only use them towards certain wireless essentials.
