Downgrading 3GS

Hey there, I bought a 3GS the other day. I brought it home and upgraded it to IOS 5.0.1. Well now the battery dies in about 5 hours. The person I bought from says they had no problems with the battery life. The phone was on 4.3.5 when I got it. I've done some research and found out that a lot of people are having this issue with 5.0.1 on the 3GS. I tried downgrading back to 4.3.5 with iTunes giving me an error (3194). I tried everything Apple suggest to fix this error with none of them working. Does anyone have an ideas how I might get this phone back on 4.3.5??

I forgot to mention this phone is not and hasn't been jailbroken.

hmm 5 hours? thats way too fast. I have a 3gs that is on the same firmware and can easily last 3 days with normal use. what is your modem firmware? I too had the same error and I used another laptop to restore my firmware and used my daily to put back on my apps. I am jail broken. pm me with the details of your restore and I will try and help you sort it out.
