I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

The behavior you describe is how iTunes Match is designed. If you enable iTunes Match, it replaces your entire music library. You can sync your own music or use iTunes Match, but not both simultaneously. Normally it's not an issue because any songs not matched will be uploaded. As you've seen, large files are an issue.
