    Cancel my VM with balance?

    Hi,
I am currently with the grandfathered $25 plan with a pitiful 3G speed of 89K down. So I am thinking about move to Tmobile. Have tried with their 4G prepaid by day for a day, feels much better. However, I have about $130 still left on my VM account, what happen to those balance if I cancel my VM? VM has an FAQ session saying I would loss all my unused minutes but did not mention about the balance.

    Thanks.

I think balances are non-refundable but you could use the balance to purchase equipment. I realize you would have to sell the item to get any money back but it might be better than losing the whole amount. Another possibility is selling the grandfathered plan. The $25 ones go for a nice premium. You would lose your phone number, however.

Well, is there a way to keep the grandfathered plan and port my phone number somewhere else?

Thanks Churner. Do you know anybody have tried this? I may have to wait until I used most of my balance.

I have purchased with my balance, and then sold it before.

No one here has ever mentioned trying that method. That's why I said "Maybe."
