Samsung Galaxy Note coming to Bell

The Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to Bell in mid-February. The Galaxy Note has a 5.3" Super AMOLED display with a stylus and LTE support.

You getting one? Do you look forward to walking around with a 5.3" device pressed against your face?

Not buying it because it's the Snapdragon version. Ever used the Galaxy S II from Bell and the SGS II LTE side by side? It's horrifying how much more the LTE stutters in the launcher and when scrolling, despite the CPU being clocked 300MHz faster, because the weak GPU is the issue. I'm not even going to imagine how bad it is when that Adreno 220 has to power a 1280x800 panel.

I might import an Exynos version from overseas, LTE isn't worth having a UI that could somehow be less smooth than the HTC Sense app drawer.

Is this something that could be fixed by tuning the software? I realize you've cited the processor but is just that the s/w or O/S isn't tuned for the processor?

I'm considering this or the galaxy s3 when it comes out... I'm getting subsidized by Bell.

Nope. Samsung chips don't have limited memory bandwidth to the GPU like Qualcomm and Ti SoCs do. That's why the GSII is still regarded as the definitive smooth Android device, even when running Gingerbread. Impossible to fix with Android's garbage code done in Java.
