Yes, Rogers began unlock all of their phones, including iPhones, in Jan 2010 for $50+tax. There are eligibility requirements, first and foremost that the phone not have any obligations attached to it. If you bought your current phone on contract and still have a year to go, then that automatically rules you out from eligibility. There are two ways to meet that requirement:
1) wait it out. This means either wait 1.5 years until your contract expires or wait 1 year and when you HUP to a new phone, your old one becomes eligible.
2) pay your ECF/DECF. This is a little dicey because you also need an open account to unlock it, so you need to ensure the timing doesn't bite you in the ***.
Telus has a more liberal unlock policy, where you can have your phone unlocked 90 days after purchase. But, they charge $75 and do not include iPhones.
