Everyone is selling FREAKING Phones, Even places to have haircuts have them?!?!?!?.. What's next McDonalds with their happy meals.. It got to the point that Cell Phones are the next physical pop up ads.
This is hilarious, last year at this time they blamed T-Mobile, now Sprint... The only thing that's been the same here is the awful management at the rat shack, eventually they will go under and the world will be better for it.
i remember at one time they were actually a good place to go, but when i go and ask for a capacitor or resistor and the salesman just gives me a blank stare, then there's an issue considering electronic components are your main product.
Left: T-Mobile HSPA+ with Amaze 4G, On the right Cox Communications at Home:
That's more of an area specific thing. 3G speeds work great in my area and Sprint is making improvements all the time.
It's definitely area specific, but Sprint's average speeds have been going downhill for a year or so.

Frankly, when a company switches an offering (as RadioShack did from T-Mobile to Sprint), it will take time for customers to adjust. Maybe a Sprint customer went to RS a couple years ago, found out they don't sell Sprint, and then wrote them off as a place to get their device.
Frankly, RS sells three of the four national brands. If Sprint sales are down, but the customers still like buying from RS, wouldn't they still be getting their device there? RS reported that AT&T and Verizon sales went up. If their Sprint sales didn't go down, would those sales have gone up? Are they suggesting that T-Mobile surged? It seems like they're suggesting "Sprint sales dropped off a cliff wile AT&T and Verizon increased a bit. . .ignore the fact that even as we suggest that Sprint customers dropped off (presumably to go to AT&T or Verizon) and then most *still* didn't buy their phone with us." I'm sure their reporting is accurate, but I'm not trusting the spin on it.
I guess we'll see next week whether RS' results mirror Sprint's or whether it's just a RadioShack problem.
I don't think Sprint customers prefer to go to Radio Shack anymore for phone upgrades. Best Buy offers better prices, better selection of accessories, and has better services available like the option to install shield protectors on phones. When I shopped around looking for the best deal on my Photon last year Radio Shack was $50 higher than Best Buy. In fact when I price compared all models Radio Shack had the highest prices and wouldn't match their competitors prices either. You'd have to be a fool to buy a Sprint phone there. IMO
Yeah, I did my first and only upgrade at RadioShak when the HTC Inspire dropped on AT&T.
Without getting to colorful, let's just say I won't be back at RadioShak anytime soon, if ever. Honestly, I don't know how they're still in business. I don't know anyone that shops there.
They'd better reinvent themselves while they still have some capital.
Radioshack is clearly pushing their newer carriers harder despite their long history with Sprint. To be blunt, radioshack is floundering and I dont assign much significance to their statement. It may be relevant to their continued partnership with Sprint, but I dont take it as a good general indicator of Sprint's overall performance. I think Sprint's iPhone sales have been very strong and they will lead to a significant improvement over last quarter.
Had a good laugh recently at the Shack...I buy a cheap phone case for $4.97, at checkout the guy tries to sell me a "Protection Plan"...lol. My local store plays the "new employee of the week" game...every I visit, they have new sales people. And if you see something online, the almost refuse to sell it at that price. A company with some serious training issues.

Reason: grammar

thats because radioshack doesn't do online price matching. not suppose to anyways.

The last thing I bought at Radio Shack was a Netgear router so I could set up a wireless network at home. The only reason I bought it there was the store is closer to my home and it was $5 cheaper than Best Buy. The only things I buy there these days are connectors, cables, and nonstandard batteries and the only reason I buy those items there is so I don't have to pay for shipping from online shops or if I need the item right away.
I remember the days of when you walked in they pushed a cellphone on you and if you said or showed them you already had one, they'd still push it on you. Then there was the time I bought a $10 landline phone from them and they tried to sell me a $10 service plan, get real. I don't see how they are still in business.
I haven't spent more than $10 at Radio Shack in the past 2 years. Just some cheap fuses or something about a year ago. Picked up extras just in case, they were about $1 ea.
