Anyone use the Comet as their daily driver? Thinking of picking one of these up. Just don't tell my wife! (she already thinks I'm nuts for wanting another phone....lol )

I alternate between my Comet and others (several) but I can say that the Comet is one of my favorites.
It is a surprisingly good little device.
Only shortcoming on it would be the camera, otherwise it's just right!!
Call quality and signal strength is excellent!
I only use speaker phone and I would have to say the Comet is right up there with the best as far as call quality goes and that is an important thing on a PHONE!!!
I have never had a dropped call or a call where the sound quality was not top notch on the Comet.

I have had my Comet for quite a while, since the first week in July 2011 and never had a problem with it.
It's a good sturdy little Android and got me through a long time when we didn't have internet at home. I was able to tether my laptop to it using the WiFi hotspot and never disconnected when using it.
I got one of these a month ago when there was this same six hour sale (discovered with just minutes to spare). I have no experience with other smartphones, this is my first, but it's been a fine little thing. I'm a little frustrated that the screen is a bit small so some things I'd like to run can't (like, Words With Friends!), but since my primary use is AIM, and wifi tethering so that my laptop and/or iPad/iPod Touch have internet (and I can play Words With Friend on those ), it's been absolutely just the thing, and for $60....
I won one used for $45 and it was nice. Lack of pinch to zoom sucked but it ran fine and wifi hotspot worked great. Hard to complain for that price

I had one of these as my first Android phone that I bought for $25 on Craigslist (and was able to sell two months later for over $60 on eBay, woot). The tiny screen, resolution and power of the device (can't run a lot of newer apps, or Flash, etc) is a downer, but as a first smartphone and wifi hotspot it is decent.
Not sure if it will work with this specific deal but you can try FatWallet or BigCrumbs to get cash back on top of your purchase (if you want to try, don't click my link but instead navigate through those sites and find the Tmobile cash back link). Can be as much as $12.50 back.
Not to thread crap but the Comet's screen's resolution is really low. 240x320. The Optimus T beats it hands down with 320x480 - twice as many pixels, which IMO is the lowest acceptable resolution at that screen size. Not to mention that the Optimus T was available for $99.99 with a $30 card just a week ago.
True when considering the numbers, but seen side by side, I didn't see a huge difference in how they actually look. Neither was large enough to actually want to deal with for anything intensive, but more than readable for checking email and so forth. I see it either as a cheap phone that makes calls and can be used as a hotspot for a more capable device that lacks 3G connectivity (eg, iPad), and as such, I'm perfectly happy with mine.
When I had the Comet, I did like it. But with large fingers, it was not that easy to text with it, so I sent it off to Snowy because contracted Android fever after I gave her a G1.

Yes I sure have Android fever!!
Thank YOU for helping with my addiction.
The really nice thing about the Comet is it's small size, very portable.
Now I really like the full size Androids too but the Comet is just right when you don't want to take a big phone out.
The WiFi hot spot is a big advantage and I didn't find the screen at all inferior to other phones I have, it is just a bit smaller. I am not needing to watch HD movies on a tiny screen. Personally anything more than short YouTube videos gets irritating on anything less than my laptop anyway.

I'm about to return my SECOND T-Mobile Comet to RadioShack. Luckily I got their plan that allows for returns. Both phones would not unlock, even after goin through the drills of having T-Mobile support get the unlock code. YOu get 5 tries to unlock it, then it PERMANENTLY locks up and is useless there after. Also the battery life is AWFUL. Your lucky if it lasts 24 hours when the phone is unused. I do NOT recommend it or T-Mobile. Their custoner service and technical support are totally USELESS and UNCARING.

For the record, that's not really true - at least, it's not more so than most other smart phones. If you leave Wifi and 3G turned on all the time, you *are* using your phone whether you are actively doing anything with it or not, and that will kill your battery pretty quick with any smart phone. Turn off 3G and Wifi when you are not using the phone and it lasts for days. Again, this is similar to how it is with most smartphones.
I figured parkssloan as a troll, and didn't bother to reply to it.
But...
My Comet is a wonderful little thing. It slows down, and locks up at times. I kill most of my heavy memory apps after use with Watchdog.
But for the money I paid for it, excellent buy.
I just wish they didn't bother with the camera. The camera in mine is a dust magnet, and no focus kills most of the app use.
Call me crazy, but at time I rather have it than my new Amaze. Sometimes, smaller is better.
