I'm trying to decide on new phones. I currently have a Motorola Droid X running MIUI. I really like my phone. I don't want anything smaller. However, I need to switch to something less expensive than VZW. I'm considering TMo prepaid or SIM swapping an Android on Straight Talk. Honestly, AT&T has a better network by my home, but out and about, it's really negligible. I'd prefer a phone that I could use on either network. If I hate one I could switch to the other. Are there any international/unlocked versions that will work at 3g/4g speeds on either network? Or will I be limited to 2g?
Also, I will need a new phone for my DH. He presently has an enV3. I'd like to get him an Android, but he'll throw a fit if it doesn't have a physical keyboard. Suggestions?
Well, I looked up his history for the last 12 months. He's only gone over 100 minutes twice in the last 12 months. I think the T-Mobile option will be just fine. Any really good sliders for them? At least 3g capable, 4g is better of course.
If you're buying new, your main choices would be the MyTouch Q or the Gravity Smart.
During the holidays I've was briefly hands-on with the Canadian cousin of the MyTouch Q, the LG C-800G Eclypse (stateside it would only work on HSPA with AT&T) and overall it gave me a good impression. While plastic, the build quality felt decent and the screen was good with sufficient pixel density.
i see many other website also sells this phone, but i am not sure whether they have this phone in stock or not, like lovebargaining.com,
but i prefer Chinese android phone much, i like Gooapple V5, iphone with android 2.3OS, and the screen is retina 640*960, very good!
PP offers a 1200 min, 3000 texts, 100 mb data for $29 a month, no contract. I work from home so I am on wifi 99% of time, and the data is turned off when I leave the house I only turn it on when I can't find a wifi hot spot, and absolutely have to have info.
PagePlus uses the Verizon network, so call quality is the same. You can NOT get 4g on PP.
BTW the phone I bought was used a Verizon phone on a standard phone. Do not buy a Prepaid Verizon phone, everything I read says they will not work on any other system.

Thank you for sharing, but I'm not interested in Page Plus, nor did I indicate it in my OP.
I was interested in doing a sim swap on Straight Talk or T-Mobile's $30 monthly 4g plan.
Now that ST has kicked off their BYOP program, I'm probably going with that. Still open to phone suggestions. DH will be getting a Captivate Glide. I currently have a Droid X. I want something that will be an "upgrade" over the X. It would still be nice if it is a phone that supports both at&t & T-Mobile 3g/4g bands.
