I am planing to leave fido to telus and i wonder if telus has some nice plans for those willing to change provider.
i currently have with fido unlimited north amer.+unlim.text +CID+6gb data for $87+tax.
in real i need around 500min , 500texts and some 3gb data.
i wonder if as new costumer i can get any better plan.

Unfortunately the Canadian cell phone providers don't typically negotiate for new customers. Most have retention departments, but those are not for new customers. If you want a plan that's comparable to what you have with Fido, you're going to have to try and take one over from someone else. Other than that, what you see on the website is what you have to choose from.

If you are switching multiple phones (6 or more) then the small business departments are willing to offer promotional deals and free features not shown on the website.
For consumer accounts it's basically take it or leave it. Sometimes you can get call display discounted to $5 or something small like that. Best bet is to take over an existing retention deal from some existing customer. Transfer of ownership is relatively simple with Telus, just a phone call from both parties and a credit check on you if you are new to Telus along with the $25 transfer fee which goes on the first bill. All existing charges up to the point of transfer are billed to the existing owner, you get prorated from the day of the transfer so no worries about being stuck with a bill from the previous owner or anything like that. New owner takes over the phone number but you can then go online and do a number change to your fido number for free.
You can also check on Kijiji, craigslist, ebay, Redflagdeals.com, etc.

We think everyone should be able to afford a wireless phone. That's why we were the first wireless company in North America to offer pay-by-the-second airtime, and why we don't charge an activation fee. NO scary contract to sign. Immediate national coverage. And a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Yes, it's finally time to get a wireless phone.

Consider Koodo instead. It's a subsidiary of TELUS and has the exact same coverage as TELUS.
$85+ tax for UNLIMITED nationwide calling, unlimited text/pic msging, up to 3GB data, caller ID, voicemail.
And if you use less than 3Gb data, your bill could be potentially less. ($45 talk plan + $10 caller id/voicemail/txt + $30 for up to 3Gb with data saver/flex)
And this is all offered publicly. Definitely go to Koodo. It's the smartest option.
