i don't want LTE until they get a handle on the battery consumption. i'd rather have the battery life plus hspa+ is fast enough for me. if they just expanded that technology we'd all be happy.
4 inch 16x9 or 16x10 aspect, retina, amoled screen
hd radio/tv chip for over-the-air broadcasts
get rid of the home button for a touch sensitive one.
4" display would be great, but please keep the aspect ratio at 4:3. I hate 16:9 displays in portrait mode, which is ultimately how a phone is used most of the time. I also take better battery life over LTE. Quad-core processor and more RAM should go a long way in terms of performance.
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

maybe apple could adopt a form of swype to use in their next OS. as far as hardware goes, i think there should be an even better quality rear camera, improvement on the front-facing camera, and bigger screen/overall bigger size of the device.

I'd like a clamshell design with a battery that last a few hours less than the current one. Also, does anyone else miss a physical antenna?

better rear camera? what specific improvements are you looking for?
to me the camera in the 4S is already the best amongst smart phones and rivals some of the best point and shoot cameras. if you want a better camera than that then you should be looking at a smart phone.
