    Question Changing Phones

This may sound lame but I have a new 2 me smart phone coming and I want to know if I can activate it myself on PP under Phone Activation: "I want to activate a phone and port my current phone number" ?

Since my current number is with PP I would be Porting From PP correct? I want to keep my current number and funds accrued in my account.

I know that I can get CS to do it but I would prefer giving it a go on my own...

    Thanks Folks

What you are proposing will set up a new account. All you need to do is have the new phone swapped into your current account (often referred to as an ESN change). Customer service at PP will do it for free. Why fight it?

I've seen people on HOFO link to this, but I have no experience with it:
    http://pageplusdealer.com/PagePlus/c.../ESNchange.php

I don't know if it works or not. I tried to use the pageplusdealer website to active a phone a few months ago and didn't have any luck. Changing your ESN can be done on the phone through the pageplus CSR, but sometimes there can be a 20-30 min wait.
