I bought an Optimus slider and its a good phone. But I would like something better (better camera, better video, more internal memory, etc...). I know vm does not have an iPhone or any real high end phones. The closest is the triumph. Do I buy that or wait for the next big phone from vm ( whatever that is). Thank you.
I'm in the same boat... been using my Optimus V for a while now, but itching for something new. I am kind of enticed by the Straight Talk Optimus 2X coming soon, but a little scared about switching to them. (I've read a lot of customer service horror stories.) Plus, I'm still in the $25 plan. I wish that VM would just offer a better phone already!!!
I am in the same position currently using the ov. If Virgin were smart now is the time to release a new higher end phone being its time for tax returns, boost seems to understand this. I am going to try and wait but there are several tempting options out there.
Yes, those are the substandard ones we're getting My personal guess is they're just coming to replace the Rumor Touch and Kyocera Loft/Blackberry Curve, although I could be wrong about whatever VM is thinking.

When I look at some of Sprint's past decisions, I sometimes have to wonder whether there's at least one person among the management who's purposely encouraging bad decisions just to see the company go down under.

FWIW, I'm in the same boat as you. The Motorola Triumph especially after it's rooted/flashed is a great phone. I do believe adding in a new ROM fixes any potential problems out of the box. The G2x had its own truckload of bugs until it got updated to 2.3.
But I'd much rather wait for a new phone. Doesn't have to be a dualcore (IMO those tend to eat up juice faster). If Sprint could just refresh VM's line soon and maybe even go the extra yard and bump up network speeds for us over in SF and LA a couple hundred more kbps, that'd be great.
