As an update, I'm going to say DON'T WAIT unless you're okay with 600mhz ZTE phones. I'm sorry. But in 2012 and beyond, phones should not be below 1ghz. I know clock speed doesn't tell the whole story, but it certainly gives us a good idea of where the phone falls unless it's the iPhone's A5 processor which is another story.

I bought an Optimus slider and its a good phone. But I would like something better (better camera, better video, more internal memory, etc...). I know vm does not have an iPhone or any real high end phones. The closest is the triumph. Do I buy that or wait for the next big phone from vm ( whatever that is). Thank you.
Buy it, enjoy the fantastic Motorola Triumph, and when ready, upgrade to the next high-end replacement. At this time VM phones are still proving to be hot commodities on various reseller sites such as Craigslist... treat yourself to a superior android experience with a new Motorola Triumph.

P R E P A I D is just another way to offer (and pay for) premium services and devices.

this is the funniest thing i have ever read the truimph a superior android experience.maybe 2 years ago.

Of course when compared to the currently available Virgin Mobile USA iPhone, EVO 3D, Photon, etc., etc.
OOoooops... they're not on Virgin Mobile USA.
Funny it seems like the Triumph would be the BEST currently available android option at Virgin Mobile with a superior android experience compared to the other currently available Virgin Mobile devices...
After further review the Triumph does not seem to have been available two years ago either...
i bought the triumph knowing Ide probably have dig for a good one. First was awful... buggy screen, no gps fix ever, white screen sometimes, told me the sd card was full all the time. market froze for an hour everytime i tried to start a download.. useless.
The second one I got is fantastic. awesome phone, just lots of duds out there

Spot on.
It would have been more accurate to state "the best your going to get" is the Triumph as it's far from superior and a sled in my book. Especially compared specification wise to something like the (soon to be) 2 yr old HTC EVO.
That phone was never worth 299.99 and is still not worth the 279.99 MSRP they advertise.
i've had vm for more than 4 years, so I've been through ALOT of their phones. Honestly, ( i don't keep track of their phones much anymore, i switched to sprint) I think you should wait. Although, if you do want to go ahead and buy, consider visiting your local best buy. When you buy your phone of choice, for a few extra bucks, you can include an add-on where, if VM comes out with a new phone in the next 2 years, they'll buy back your phone for half the money you payed for it, so you can use that money to put towards that new phone. Any phone they put out after two years, you'll get about a fifth of the money you spent on your old phone. So really, you can do both when you buy, if you get the add-on. Hope i helped(:

Maybe it's just me but that does not sound attractive. I would think you could get 50% or better on eBay or Craigslist in most instances.

That's why Best Buy is the retail electronics giant that it is. No need to "deal" with potentially unethical and/or perhaps dangerous peeps on Craigs or eb. Just add the add-on and get a return on your prepaid investment without the dangerous internet risks that make the news each month. Yet another reason to purchase at Best Buy.
I decided not to wait and got my Triumph on Friday. So far I haven't had any problems and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I had a lot of problems with my Optimus V and I'm glad I switched. The only problem I've had is that the Triumph is so much faster than my Optimus V that it actually made me dizzy to use it at first lol.

The Triumph is a great phone. The best on VM. I think you'll enjoy it! The GPS is currently still an issue (slow + weak indoors) but if you don't use GPS... it shouldn't matter.
My Triumph is lightyears ahead of the Intercept and Optimus I owned.

Good luck... I hope you enjoy your phone!
There are animation mods that make the Triumph even faster, coupled with a processor you can stably overclock to 1.5gh. Do not attempt this without professional supervision...

What is your manufacture date (it's in the back with battery off). Also have you noticed any missed touches or is the touchscreen 100% reliable? And how fast does the GPS lock outside with data turned off? These are the main issues that custom ROMs can't solve yet.
