Speeds looking good data mms work mms needed tetherme app and apn needed unlockit website all is well here so far
I figured out why part of South Dakota was missing. Their map is really old, and there used to be no GSM there, but after the Alltel divestiture, AT&T built out HSPA+ there, so now it's covered.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
I still have my Sprint iPhone 4S's laying around so I popped out the Sprint SIM into my locked AT&T iPhone 4S. The Cellular menu popped up and I entered in the correct MMS settings, tested it and it works great! Oddly enough, I tried it in a locked AT&T iPhone 4 and it gives me an invalid SIM message...will need to get my hands on a T-MO Micro SIM.
As I previously posted, I had no luck changing the settings with my inactive T-Mobile SIM card (cut to microSIM size) in my AT&T locked iPhone 4. The top left corner simply said NO SERVICE so the SIM card was recognized as valid. Bottom line - I'm not sure a T-mobile SIM will do you any good, although I haven't seen what happens with an ACTIVE SIM (i.e. one with service). Maybe that's the "trick" needed to make the SIM swap/MMS trick work.
I am El Supremo, master of all I survey, a legend in my own mind...
Has anybody used the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the HTC Amaze 4G from T-Mobile on the Straight Talk SIM and has T-Mobiles 42Mbps 4G in their area? Wondering if the Straight Talk SIM works with these speeds and also if T Mobiles wifi calling works?
Hey now that sounds like good news. Wonder if there is anything special about that sprint sim, maybe nada. Maybe the 4S is just special and accepts any kinda sims like a whore accepts sailors? Ya keep us posted on the tmob+iPhone
+AT&T+locked.
I just wanna keep tabs on a good solution for non jailbreakers because apple is gonna close its legs soon and the hole will be gone. Peeps gonna be up in here complaining about unlockit and mms again.

My guess is the 4S is probably more accepting of different SIM cards because all the versions (AT&T, Sprint, & Verizon) are basically the same aside from the arbitrary carrier lock. I would imagine any non AT&T microSIM will work in the 4S. I'd try to wrangle my brother's active T-Mobile SIM as suggested earlier, but I think he'd have a hard time letting me cut his SIM card up.
Someone who has purchased and received the T-Mobile SIM please post the SIM model number and the first 6 digits of the 20 digit S/N. Both items can be found on the card the SIM was attached to.
